crazyDrivers – A Fun Racing Game for Thrill Seekers

crazyDrivers

Are you a fan of action-filled racing games and love the sensation of adrenaline pumping through your veins? Well, there is a new video game for android users that packs a punch for all the adrenaline junkies out there. Available for free on Google Play Store, Crazy Drivers is a new entry in the genre of racing games that looks promising from the first sight.

crazyDrivers makes the first impression with its noir-themed fonts and color scheme while also including western-inspired music of drums and guitar. It seems to hold together the whole concept of action gaming. There are 3 play modes, namely Racing, Bumper, and Grand Tour. The objective in the game is pretty straightforward – reach the finish line without hitting the obstacles and other cars before your time runs out. Controls are equally simple, for all you need to do is press and hold the screen to accelerate the car and slide your finger across the screen to control its direction. The challenge lies in controlling the car through high speed and maneuvering it across the track while dodging the traffic and other obstacles. At the same time, you have to collect star coins that can be used to unlock other cars. There are some unique features such as the offensive bar which, once filled, activates the offensive mode for 10 seconds. It adds that extra layer of fun and adventure which is missing from other mainstream car racing games. The game is quite detailed too, given its small size. With 16 cars, 31 different levels and each of the 4 tracks featuring a variety of scenarios such as different times of the day and weather conditions, crazyDrivers make sure that you do not run out of the fun.

The game is appropriate for those above the age of 3. Its easy to use controls thus make it suitable for your toddler when he is bored and its reflex-testing character may help improve your child’s motor skills and coordination. Even for the grown-ups, crazyDrivers appear to be a decent pastime and keeps one engaged with its additional features such as a special race after every 3 levels and a motivation to unlock and collect all the cars. Interestingly, once you finish all the levels an animation film plays at the end that seems to bind the entire experience together and gives a remarkable sensation of complacency.

On the whole, crazyDrivers appear to be a worthy racing game. But several features could have been improved to make the gameplay experience even better. For instance, driving at night is too challenging because the graphics are not sophisticated enough to make the vehicles discernible against the landscape. And not to say that the game is 2-dimensional. So, the game may seem more interesting to those who are looking for a retro feel and not to those who seek the 3-dimensional thrill of the modern era games.

Other minor issues such as those of advertisements can be taken care of with in-app purchases. You can also support the makers of crazyDrivers on Patreon from the home screen of the game itself.

Despite its few shortcomings, the verdict still falls in favor of crazyDrivers because, in its segment and size, the game offers a quite extensive and elaborate action-filled experience with a nostalgic undertone to it. It is worth giving a shot!
