A new mission-based battle game has been unleashed. neoDefense is a game that tests your strategic savvy and quick reflexes. It’s based in a world where new life has emerged and it’s your job to protect and defend it from creatures that invade in waves.
With a small initial cost to download, you get a lot of bang for your buck. As soon as you download the game, I would highly advise on selecting the Settings icon, looks like a gear, to set the music and sound effects volumes to your liking.
Next, if you are not as adventurous as other gamers, then the Help icon will be your next stop; look for the icon with the question mark on it. This takes you to YouTube where you can view a tutorial on basics behind the game.
Once you have finished this, you can start gaming. At first, you will only have one game available to you, called “The Entry.” Once you have mastered this game the app opens up more games and challenges that you can participate in.
The app has about three sets of 15 games, Alpha, Beta and Gamma. After these sets, there are about 8 more sets that are yet to be developed and launched.
When you start a game, you will see your little sprout of life placed somewhere on the playing grid. From there, you will see the invaders start to come. The initial game shows them as little red arrows. The bottom of the screen shows the defense mechanisms you have at your disposal. Simply drag and drop your defense mechanism to the location on the grid you feel will best defend your sprout of life in the best possible way. The initial game shows only a single path on which the invaders will travel, so your defense strategy will not have to be so complicated.
As you move forward in game challenge, you will see more complex grids and invasion techniques that will test your wit and quick reflexes. You have only so much time before the invaders gain access to or approach the sprout within firing range, and you need to place your cannons, towers and more in the right locations to prevent them from winning.
Every win provides you with more sophisticated defense armaments, so your techniques can grow with each increase in difficulty. This paired with sharp graphics and a pumped up soundtrack keep you going.
I would say that the only aspect of the game I did not like is that it was not very clear on how to play. I had to watch the tutorial video several times before I got an idea on how to play and even then, I failed several times. I found it difficult to figure out how to fire my cannon and take out the enemy.
After several tries, I did succeed and then started to enjoy the game, looking forward to the next set of invasions. NeoDefense is a game that players of all ages will like.
