UberGif – Add Movement and Life to Static Moments for Yourself and To Share

UberGif

Many of us love laughing at the GIFs we get in text messages, SnapChat and Instagram posts. Well, let’s face it, anywhere you can post a GIF, we love to get them because they are short and funny and usually put a smile on your face, if not make you laugh out loud. Ever have a funny moment and all you have is a snapshot of it? Well, now you can convert that snapshot into a GIF without lifting a finger.

Well, you will have to tap a few buttons, but that’s it. No video processing required. Instead, an app that makes the magic come to life. That app is UberGif.

UberGif works with the photos you have on your iPhone and also works with the “hidden” photos you don’t know about. What I am talking about are the several shots that are taken by the device, before and after you take a photo. iOS takes these photos to help it make sure it gets the right shot with the right lighting, and so on…These shots are not visible to us, because all we want to see is the final shot.

Well, if you remember back in the day of watching cartoons, animation is created by a series of images. Each image has a slight variation from the image just before it, and when viewed in sequence, quickly, gives the appearance of a movie – moving pictures.

What UberGif does is take a photo that you upload and it digs deep into the iPhone to find those before and after pictures. It then sequences all the photos, along with the one you uploaded, to create a movie, or GIF. All you have to do is upload a photos, UberGif does the rest.

Once you get your result, you can view it to see if you like it. If you do, you can save it, email it, or you can share it via most of the popular social media sites, like YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, SnapChat and Instagram. There’s more to that list, which you will see once you download the app.

By the way, the app is free to download, so that makes it even better!

Note that UberGif only works with Live Photos, so please don’t expect any miracles from the app if you try to upload a photo of a different type.

What would be nice is the ability to take the live photo from the app itself. It would make the sharing occur much faster by eliminating one extra step of taking the photo from the camera app, uploading, and then converting.

On its own, UberGif is a lot of fun, because it brings a picture to life helping you relive memories and share them with others, so they feel like they were there.
