AR Puzzles – Never Lose a Piece When Building Puzzles in Virtual Reality Space

AR Puzzles app

Remember when you were a kid and you just had one piece left to finish a puzzle, but you were left with a gaping hole and no more pieces. More often than not, those pesky pieces have a way of disappearing, falling on the floor and getting swept away, taken by the dog as a snack, or just inadvertently stuck under something else on the table without your knowledge.

Whatever the reason, it was always frustrating to lose a piece and not be able to finish what you started. Well, now there’s a way you can have fun putting puzzles together as if they were real pieces, without losing a single one. It’s called AR Puzzles, and while there are several apps out there that claim the same, the app by Yuri Miguel is definitely one to try if you are looking for something new.

Free to download it offers 30-, 60-, 90-, and 120-piece puzzles featuring 105 different images, coming to a total of 408 puzzles in all. Because the app is free, you will see ads, but there is an in-app purchase that allows you to turn off ads.

What makes AR Puzzle so fun is that it can become your replacement for buying real physical puzzles, making your favorite hobby available to you whenever you want. One thing to note, however, is that the app requires an iOS device that runs on an A9, A10 or A11 chip, which also means it has accelerometer technology to detect motion over time. This means that you must use the app while you are not moving, otherwise, the effects may not be as you expected.

It brings the puzzle building experience and digitizes it. In AR, it becomes almost real, but without the hassle of the pieces being real and having the potential to be lost. Because it’s a game, you would expect its control panel to sit somewhere on the screen aligned with the frame. However, because this is AR, the designer has made the control panel and integrated member of the virtual reality space, so it appears as if floating in the room in which you puzzle sits.

With crisp colors it brings many interesting images to life, and there are a variety of them, so players of all ages will find something they like. I highly recommend starting off with a 30-piece puzzle to get the hang of how to move the pieces. They all come together in an area designated by the app. What would be nice is to have a larger working area so you could spread more pieces around and be able to more of them at once, just as many would when using a dining table to complete a puzzle.

AR Puzzles has made puzzle building fun on a whole new level. If you want to take puzzles with you to the office, the beach or just about anywhere, download the app today.
