Bathsleep featured

Relaxation and mindfulness seem to be hot topics these days. We all have a ton of things on our plates during our waking hours; taking time out to recharge and replenish is key to surviving today’s hectic lifestyle. While there are many apps out there that help will mindfulness and relaxation, one is specific to creating an environment which starts with a soothing soak and ends up in the comfort of your covers.

That app is Bathsleep. While its intention is not to put you to sleep while you are in the bathtub, it aims to create a calming ambiance around you while you start your evening of calm. It’s an app that plays calming music while displaying lights that will transform your bathroom into an oasis of serenity.

Not many calming apps out there speak to the senses of both sight and sound. That is what makes Bathsleep so unique. As a free download, you get a music player and light illumination, for bathtime and for sleep. If you choose to upgrade through an in app purchase, you can take advantage of a natural sound system called OFURO DSP, which helps the project the music more acoustically, which resonates and reverberates within your body to help with the relaxation process.

While the app sounds simple, it actually has a multi layered offering of features such as:

What’s very important to remember is that if you choose to use this app near the bathtub, please remember to keep it safe from water.

I really liked the app and tried it using one parent device and one child device, and found the sounds very soothing. I really liked that you could easily transition from bathroom playing mode to bedroom playing mode with just a shake of the device. What I’d like to see is a mode that you can set up for work or for study time, to provide nice background/white noise to help you focus.

Until then, I plan on using Bathsleep regularly to wash away the day and help me transition from bath to sleep without blinking an eye.
