Crystal Math – Fun and Easy Way to Practice Math

Crystal Math featured

If you’ve been looking for a fun way to get your kids to practice math, or just want to brush up and better yourself, then Crystal Math – Numbers on Speed is the app to download. It’s a simple game app that gives you arithmetic problems to solve in a set amount of time.

It can be used to get kids sharper at simple math, to free up time to spend on more complicated math, or to sharpen your mind and make your math skills stronger. Just by playing a few games everyday.

Crystal Math is setup with a variety of games to play. You can play on your own, but know that you will have 30 seconds to complete each game. You can also join the community and challenge yourself against a friend or challenge a group. This is where the real fun begins because you can create an avatar and set yourself up for increasing levels of practice and game play.

Once you download, you’ll see the four types of challenges you can sign up for. There’s a Daily Challenge that gives you the opportunity to play against other prime players and win a spot at the top. You can Duel, where you can challenge another player or accept a challenge. Want to practice against yourself and make your math calculations? Then try the Time Attack. Each challenge gives you just 30 seconds to enter the final figure. The last group of games is the Free Play, which is the perfect stomping ground for practicing or just getting to the know the game a little better.

Each game pretty much works the same. Once you start one, you are given a number, then you swipe up and get an arithmetic calculation to perform. Once you complete the calculation, in your head of course, you swipe up again to get the next calc, and so on until the app prompts you to enter your final answer. The app will tell you if got it correct or not, and will also record your time.

Speaking of time, if you want to see how you’ve done over time you can check out the Statistics page. Perfectly set up for math lovers, it tells you how many times you’ve opened the app and how well you’ve timed each game. It helps you see your progress no matter what type of game you play.

If there’s anything I would change in the game it would be to make the font a bit more structured. I realize the creators were going for a handwritten look on graph paper. It’s cute, but I like the look of typewritten characters when doing math.

I found that playing Crystal Math made my senses stronger and my mind more alert. Math is everywhere around us, and by being able to do it in your head, faster, you can get more done in a day to free you up for more fun stuff.
