Sometimes, you just need to have a PDF to share a document or content that is truly read-only. Sometimes, the only device you have access to is your mobile or the file you need to convert is easily accessible via your mobile. That said, it’s just faster and easier to make that PDF right then and there, rather than have to send the file to a computer and perform the magic there.
One app that is a good candidate to meet this requirement is “PDF Conversion Tool” by Leila Domashenko. While there are several tools out there that produce comparable results, this tool is fairly easy to use and does a good job of processing your file and creating its PDF equivalent, maintaining quality. Another distinguishing feature of this app is that you can take a PDF and turn it into a Word doc or into a variety of image formats.
In addition to all of this, PDF Conversion Tool also allows you to place password protection on files, remove them, and compress PDFs without compromising quality. The functionality almost rivals that of a PDF processing tool on a laptop or full computer – which is a lot for something that is running on a mobile device.
While I cannot list them all here, some of the formats from which this tool will convert into PDF include: DWG, DXF, DOC, DOCM, DOCX, AZW, EPUB, JPG, BMP, GIF, PPS, PPSX, CXV, XLSX, AI, CDR and SVG. PDFs can be converted into the following formats: DXF, DOCX, HTML, AZW3, PDB, BMP, JPG, PNG, AI, and more. The lists on the app’s information page is exhaustive and will list all possibilities. One caveat on creating Word docs from PDF – this cannot be done from PDFs that were produced via scanner or something that is just an image (i.e. you took a picture of a page of text), PDFs with security restrictions or if the PDF is a form.
If you have experienced issues with capturing and maintaining internal formats like table formats and layouts, know that PDF Conversion Tool does a good job of making sure everything stays the same.
Now, while functionally the app is superb, another important factor to consider, always, is how easy is it to use? Pretty easy. The layout is clean. When you open the app, it presents four functions: Convert, Compress, Protect and Unlock. When selecting files, it will go to iOS Files app and will ask you to select the file on which to work on. It also saves the files that you recently worked on, as well.
I would like to see, in the future, the ability to convert an email to PDF, as this is a function I need quite often. I look forward to seeing this in a future update.
Bottom line, if you are looking for a quality PDF conversion tool that fits in the palm of your hand, or your iOS device, then PDF Conversion Tool is one to keep high on your short list.
