If you are like me, you love your iOS devices. You’ve got your iPhone tucked away on you so you can keep in contact, keep updated, and keep busy. When you’ve got some space to spare, you pull out your iPad and get down to more serious work, or play. But when the going gets rough with space and performance, that’s when it’s time to pull out the big guns and bring everything to order.
MacX MediaTrans is an app for the Mac that brings clarity to chaos across all your iOS devices. It’s a device manager that sits on your Mac and lets you move data across your devices, and even allows you to transfer as well, so you can free up some space on the device that needs it most.
In a nutshell, it lets you manage, transfer, and backup files of all kinds from your mobile devices to the Mac. Still in love with the movie you downloaded three years ago on your iPad, but know you won’t watch it for another few more? Then transfer it to your Mac. When you are ready to watch, MediaTrans will let you put it back on the device of your choice. But will keep it safe and sound until you are ready.
If your iPhone has too many songs on it and you can see a significant drain on performance, then move some of those songs to your Mac. You will still have them, and you can recall them anytime you want.
How about those movies that, in your mind, are all treasures to be kept forever. Your device may not entirely feel the same way, and to be honest, who wants to rummage through all of those files to look for what you really want. Make it a point to download the videos you know you won’t watch for a while, like the ones from five years ago. If you ever need to see them, they are on your Mac!
The features are endless and include:
- Direct transfers of photos, videos, music from mobile to Mac and back
- Extract audio from M4V and save as MP4 or MP3
- Transforms your iPhone into a USB to send files
- Media management from the MAC: manage playlists, tracks, albums and genres
- Delete media from mobile devices after backup to Mac
- Quick transfers that maintain quality
- Videos auto rotate on mobile devices when needed
And there is so much more. I thought iTunes was enough to keep my media well managed and backed up, but MacX MediaTrans is so much better.
I would say that the one thing that would make it even better is the ability to push data from my device to the Mac so that I could transfer and save from my mobile device instead of having to drive all the transfers from my Mac.
Until then, I have made great use of MacX MediaTrans to keep my memories and keep my mobiles machines purring to perfection.
