When playing a game as deceptivly simple as Marble Jetpack, one can start of assuming that this a simple race against time game where all you need to do is reach the end goal within a certain time limit. Well, you would be half right, because Marble Jetpack is so much more as well. It has a “collect objects” feature and a “shooting the enemies before they get you” mode. And did I mention a Jetpack? Because, that’s there too. And the best part is that it is all within the same game. That’s right! Its’ not separate stages for jet packs and shooting and racing against time, but rather all combined in from the first level onwards making for a fun, exciting and thrilling yet sometimes aggravating ride.
Marble Jetpack has the “keep trying till you succeed” gameplay part down pat. It’s not easy passing through the stages and it keeps getting tougher as you pass through the five levels in the Arcade mode. You need to have good hand to eye coordination, know when to shoot and when to fly with your jetpack and most importantly, if you fail, you have to keep trying again and again till you succeed.
After you master the five levels of arcade mode, you are then eligible to try out the Challenge mode. This is much tougher than the Arcade mode and it took me about an hour to complete the first challenge. I think the developers are planning on any different modes as can be seen with Adventure mode being advertised as “coming soon”.
The gameplay in Marble Jetpack is top notch, really. It is simple yet deceptively challenging and one can easily get infuriated by the complexity the game has to offer. However, for the die-hard gamers who are looking for something to keep them addicted and glued to their mobile, the gameplay of Marble Jetpack is the answer to their prayers.
The graphics are basic and therefore can be played on any mobile. So, you don’t need a lot of RAM or memory. Just download, browse through the training level and you should be good to go.
You start off as a marble, that you can customize later on. You first have to learn to roll and stop. Seems simple doesn’t it? Well, it’s not and it takes a little bit of getting used to. Then you are introduced to the Jetpack. Yes, this marble can also fly! Once you have mastered maneuvering on the ground and in the air, you then get a shooter that has unlimited bullets and you have slightly moving targets to shoot down. Oh, and while you are doing all this, you need to collect all the stars around you and keep an eye out for the countdown timer. So, all in all, loads of fun if you are up for a challenge.
Marble Jetpack is also unfortunately pretty addictive if you, like me, are someone who doesn’t like losing to a machine. It not only keeps you hooked but you end up playing the same level over and over in the hopes of bettering your score or sometimes just trying to move to the next stage. So, take a break while trying to beat this truly awesome game
