I don’t know about you, but I hate searching for apps to do each and every thing I need to keep my Mac clean, up to date, humming, you get the picture. On top of that, you have to remember the login information for each one, because as we all know, you shouldn’t use the same password for different logins.

Well, have I got a solution for you. Setapp serves as a one-stop marketplace for all of your Mac needs – and I mean all. It’s a subscription service that gives Mac users access to a multitude of apps that your Mac needs. These apps have been vetted and reviewed to provide best-in-class results.

So, how does it work? All you do is sign up for the subscription, which costs just $9.99 per month. With this you get over 60 carefully chosen and targeted apps that Mac users need most. The creators of Setapp plan on bumping that offering to almost 300 apps as new apps are added to their coffers.

Set up is easy. You simply go to Setapp.com, register and download the desktop app.

Setapp already includes some apps that many Mac users are familiar with: CleanMyMac, Ulysses, XMind, Hype, and more. In addition to these, there are a ton of other apps that I did not even know existed. It made maintenance of my Mac so robust, while introducing me to several apps that allow you to “use” my Mac in so many more ways.

You can easily navigate through the mindblowing selection using the Finder Sidebar and a pulldown from the Mac’s main menu bar. If you want to get to Setapp quickly, settle it down in the dock using Preferences.

It’s easy to get to the Setapp apps through Launchpad and through a Spotlight search. With so many apps to choose from, you may not know where to start. The best thing to do is to type in a word related to what you need, like “music,” “cleanup,” “copy,” and more. This will bring up the Setapp apps that are related to that keyword, allowing you to browse a more targeted selection.

What I really liked was the wide variety of app categories: productivity, video related, developer tools, Mac utilities, graphics, finance – the list goes on.

To learn a little more about an app before actually opening it, you can simultaneously click on its icon while holding down the space bar. This brings up a Quick View preview pane.

I don’t know if there’s anything that make this tool any better. Free previews to up and coming apps may be nice, so the user community can test out a potential candidate for the Setapp offering.

As is, Setapp has made my life so much easier because now all I have to do to find something for my Mac is open up its suite, search and use.
