If you like zombie battle games and also like to build up a defensive home base from which to fend off the hordes of zombie intruders looking to decimate the remaining human population, then have I got a game for you.
Final Fortress – Idle Survivor is a game in which you build up a rickety old shack to house survivors of an apocalypse who are aimlessly roaming around, also trying to stay alive and avoid the zombies who have taken over. The building part is kind of fun, as all it involves in tapping on the various floors of your structure to equip your fortress with resources, also known as gas, and to make each floor of your house stronger so you can defend from all sides and from all levels.
When you download the game, you will be walked through the scenario of what has happened and what you are tasked with doing. You living in a post apocalypse world and the main form of currency is gas. Get your hands on as much as you can and you will be able to build up your multi level fortress to defend its inhabitants and destroy the zombies.
Did I mention there were mutants as well? Yes, there will be hordes of zombies and mutants that converge upon your dwelling.
So, once you complete the intro, you will then be instructed to build the bottom level of your house. This involves tapping on that level and watching the gas barrels collect. Once you arrive at a certain amount, you’ll get to build up level 2. In some cases, you may even be able to build up two levels at a time. I was able to build up level two and a greenhouse simultaneously.
Based on the “gas” you’ve accumulated, you will be offered extras to add to each level. Examples include guardians and weaponry. The key here is to tap as fast as you can to keep the coffers full. Every so often, you will get some bonuses, which will be a diamond or two. Those are extremely valuable.
Once enough of the house is built up, the zombies will start to appear. You will use the implements you’ve secured at each floor to fend them off. This is turn earn you more points. Battles ensue in waves, very much similar to a series or theme, which makes game play even more dramatic. As you complete waves, you move on to more difficult and challenging waves, earning you stars and the potential for higher scores on the global scoreboard.
I forgot to mention the Global Scoreboard. It’s where you get to shines. Work hard and beat out those who claim to be better. The higher you rank, the more prizes you’ll win as you play.
If there’s anything I could wish for in terms of improvement, it would be to have a better explanation of what to do at each level to move faster. I also found the graphics to be somewhat difficult to decipher, which prompts me to recommend playing this game on a large screen device.
Outside of that, Final Fortress is a game that can get as challenging as you want, as long as you keep winning battles and working your way up to victory.
