If you like games that give you more physical action out of your device and you like the vertical platform game genre, then a new adventure has made its debut. Tales of Furia is a game that is set in a story that spans about five chapters worth of quest through the land of Furia in search of a princess. Prince Furry was about to wed the love of his life, when evil Dark Lord Furious sets him down a different path. Trapped in the dungeons of despair, the prince must forge a path to freedom and find his beloved.
The app is quite entertaining when you first download it. It starts with the setup story, as was summarized above, with a charming melody in the background. After four screens of storytime, you get to start the game. The entire app runs on either iPhone or iPad, and must be played with the device held horizontally. You will see the prince standing at the bottom of the screen, looking up with hopes of escape. To free him, tilt your device right or left so that he moves accordingly. Tap the screen so that he jumps up and attempts to make it to a higher platform. As the prince climbs, he will get closer to his target, but the climb will become more challenging as the exit sign approaches.
Once you move from the dungeons, you will get to explore the many different realms that make up Furia. Imaginative sights and epic music take you through adventures that heroes long for. Defeat the evil Furious and save the princess, to end all on a happy note.
On a logistics level, the game is flexible and accommodates different expertise levels. If you are looking for a challenge, choose the Normal setting that offers a limit of three lives. Not up for that? Choose Easy for an unlimited number of lives, so you can get accustomed to the game and increase your expertise. As you weave your way through places and overcome obstacles, you can unlock special challenges by collecting stars found randomly throughout the game scheme.
Tales of Furia is initially simple and fun to play, but it takes some getting use to the combination of moving the prince from side to side and up and down, if that is something you are not used to. Starting off at Easy level is highly recommended if you are new to this gaming platform.
But overall, I would recommend this app for players of all ages who like sliding and jumping, and just an overall more engaging experience in a game. If you are tired of just tapping away, this game gives you a bit more to play with in terms of maneuverability and interaction. It also gives you something to work towards, playing over a theme with a goal in sight. Download the free version to see how you like and upgrade to the full version to reveal more chapters and more fun.
